Best practice Paid Time Off policies and Paid Holidays Accounts Payable Specialist As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will handle the day-to-day accounting processes, journal entries, and closing activities to ensure related financial goals are achieved.
You will share primary contact for accounts payable functions connected to other ATC departments, specifically Supply Chain, as well as outside vendors.
Expected Job Functions/Accountabilities in the Role:
Manages the daily accounts payable activity, while being able to work through complex accounts, ensuring standard work and internal control structures are followed.
Communicates regularly with vendors and team members to resolve any account problems or receiver discrepancies in a timely manner.
Reviews and processes rebate and sales performance incentive payments, warranty and Co-op claims, or other program items, following specific guidelines and handling discrepancies through following up with the warranty/sales/marketing departments to ensure the work is done in a high-quality, accurate, and timely manner.
Sharing responsibilities for handling aging to ensure bills are paid in accordance with policies and agreements.
Maintains vendor account profiles to ensure accuracy of information, timely updates of changes, and that required documentation is on file.
Supports the weekly and monthly closing processes for accurate and on-time delivery of financials and other reports.
Reviews and keeps procedures, job instruction breakdowns, filing, and records up to date and accurate.
Supports 1099 reporting, sales or excise tax filings, and local titling requirements to ensure compliance with taxing and regulatory authorities.
Position Requirements:
Education:
Education in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Business) is a plus, but not required.
Experience:
3-5 years of years of accounting experience (will consider a combination of relevant education and experience).
Basic understanding of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles and accounting/tax compliance preferred, but willing to train candidates who possess a strong initiative and ability to research, learn and actively apply new knowledge to the role.
Functional Skills:
High attention to detail; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work on-time and accurately; basic accounting and math skills and advanced problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills; high accuracy in journal entry and reconciliation; highly process-oriented; ability to research tax laws and policies to ensure high accuracy in application in the organization.
Technology Aptitude/Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially with Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams), Adobe, File Explorer, and ERP, CRM, or similar accounting systems.
Language Skills:
Solid verbal and written communication skills that coherently express thoughts/ reasoning; Ability to translate communications or data into organized and easily understandable forms of documentation; Professional email communication to internal and external parties.
